How has it been a week since our Supper & Spice dinner party already!?

Here is a brief look at the event itself.

Food has always been magic and such a significant part of our work: with our first garden parties over breakfast, Hey Babe workshops with ‘posh’ platters and now full on evening cuisines.
What do you think we should explore next? we’re keen to hear about your experiences and thoughts in more detail ready for future events so if you grabbed a ticket we’ll be in touch!

Friday night we hosted our ‘Supper & Spice’ dinner party symposium, an exploration of diversity through food as a vehicle for understanding our city’s heritage. 🥘 🍲
Surrounded by incredible food and amazing speakers it was powerful, insightful and affirming.
NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF FOOD!!! 🩷

A straddle between an in/formal approach to a public talk, hosted by Downtown Pompey with guests that will guide, tell stories, give information.
With food taking centre stage for us all to try and tuck into there will be opportunities to explore and meet each other through our cuisine as an integral part of the Heritage experience in our city.

Welcome to Onyx Nights, a Queer Storytelling Soiree under the stars, amplifying the voices of Queer People Of Colour and the Global Majority. Join us for snug blankets, shimmering stories, and to be part of a supportive, sparkling audience.

If you are a QPOC and have a story about queer joy, especially one that highlights food and culture, we want to hear it. Share how food and cultural traditions bring you joy and connect you to your queer identity. Other than that, anything goes! Variety is the spice of life.
