Hope you’re okay! Just wanted to give you an update on some of the upcoming projects we’re working on and spread the word of some bits we’ve got coming up over the summer….
The Posh Club! 12-3pm, Wednesday 2 August, Buckland Community Centre
This summer we’re working with London performance art collective Duckie on their Posh Club project. The Posh Club is coming to Pompey! Hosted by The Fabulous Josh.
“The Posh Club is a glamorous performance and social club for older people held regularly in five locations across London and the South East.
The three hour event is styled as a tongue-in-cheek ‘posh’ 1940’s afternoon tea with three live performers, volunteer waiters in black tie, vintage crockery and an in-house pianist.
It is a glamorous event for 150 people, held in the heart of the community in the elegantly transformed Buckland Community Centre, it emphasises dressing up, regular access to live performance, social connectivity and intergenerational volunteering.”

Sticky Floors & Palm Trees Project
We’ve also got our project ‘Sticky Floors & Palm Trees’ up and running, an exploration of Pompey nightlife culture of the 70’s, 80’s & 90’s which will end in a fantastic ‘immersive’ show at the New Theatre Royal next January.
First up, we’ll be touring the Sticky Floors podcast booth at local events in August for those of you who experienced it first hand to have your Desert Island Discs moment and tell us your clubbing stories!

‘Downtown Drop-ins’
We will also be doing a few ‘Downtown Drop-ins’ over the summer, such as picnics and BBQs, as a way of catching up with you all. Keep an eye out for these dates on social media and here.
